A new Child Development Centre for the local Primary Care Trust was designed to provide enhanced facilities for the assessment, diagnosis & management of local children that experience difficulties with their development.
The facility has been planned over two floors and forms part of the Malinslee master-plan development, located between the Old Park Primary School and the proposed relocated Malinslee Primary Care Centre. With its single aim to serve the local community the accommodation comprises of a variety of specialist facilities including:- Speech Therapy suite, clinical rooms, Paediatric facilities, physiotherapy suite, a dedicated Audiology room with adjacent observation suite, a parents room and child development nursery facility. Additional staff accommodation, office and meeting rooms are located on the first floor.
Designed to provide essential support services to Old Park Primary School, the Child Development Centre reflects the contemporary design of it’s immediate neighbour. It’s brick ground floor contrasts with it’s upper storey, set back so as to soften the elevations. Although designed as an individual stand alone facility, with a dedicated entrance, a contemporary canopied walkway links the Child Development Centre and school.
