National property and construction consultancy Wakemans is acting as BREEAM Assessors and sustainability advisor for the London Array Offshore Wind Farm’s Operations and Maintenance Base in Ramsgate, Kent; which has been designed by award winning Midlands based BBLB Architects.

London Array:
The London Array will be commissioned in phases as groups of turbines become operational. Each turbine will be energised, commissioned and tested individually and in groups to make sure they’re working correctly.
We’re expecting the whole of Phase 1 to be commissioned by spring 2013, after which the site will be handed over to the Operations and Maintenance team.

Scaled-down revamp of schools given start date →
Leicester Mercury:
Work to rebuild and refurbish Leicester’s secondary schools will start at Rushey Mead in April.
A scaled down plan for the city’s Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project was given the go ahead by the Government just before Christmas.
Leicester City Council has made savings of £31 million (14 per cent) from a pot of about £218 million which remains to be spent.
